Step 3: Understand what Core TAP does for your business
Core TAP is the non-payment side of TAP. It is available by default and is the easiest place to start.
Core TAP includes
  • check-ins
  • referrals
  • public reviews in TAP
Why it matters
Core TAP helps you make more money by helping you:
  • increase repeat visits
  • bring in referred customers
  • build trust through reviews
  • grow a larger base of past customers you can re-engage later through TAP

Important: Every time a customer interacts with your business through TAP, they become part of your growing pool of past customers inside TAP. That is valuable because those are customers you can later re-engage through TAP merchant tools.
Key point
Core TAP is:
  • fast to launch
  • easy for staff to explain
  • easy for customers to use
  • a low-friction way to drive repeat business
Important
Core TAP features are available by default.
If you want anything adjusted or turned off, request changes through the website or by emailing TAP operations at team@gettaprewards.com.
Step 4: Launch check-ins
Check-ins are one of the fastest ways to start building repeat behavior.
Action
  • You can find your Check-in QR Code inside your TAP application under your merchant — hit "Generate Loyalty QR Code"
Please note this QR code doesn't change, so feel free to print it as many times as you want and post everywhere.
  • Make sure your Check-In QR is displayed clearly
  • Place it where customers naturally pause: entrance, counter, host stand, reception
  • Add a sign: "Check in with TAP and earn points" — TAP will provide templates or you can design your own!
Staff script: Check in with TAP and earn points.
Why it matters
